J31 carcass for sale.Is it 1st prod example?

The historic aspect is that it may be the example at Birmingham airport which I believe is the first production example?

Can anyone enlighten me?

PLXI used to be registered MATP and as such was the prototype.

It wasn’t G-MATP but G-PLXI which is in a fair old state!

Sadly, the cost of transport and concerns about parts put the brakes on that project. I’d be more than happy to take that job on though!

We’ve got room for oodles of aircraft, and the enthusiasm to take care of them. Sadly, we don’t have the cash to get them here.

The j31 at WFD is long gone. Fuse went to a college in newcastle iirc.

Incidently WV, what is the status of the deal for G-MATP that was reported in flypast last year as possibly going to you guys at liverpool?

Scottish Aviation was taken into British Aerospace on 29 April 1977 but continued to trade in its own name until on 1 January 1978. BAe was split into Aircraft and Dynamics Groups, with the former Scottish Aviation becoming the Scottish division of the Aircraft Group. The whole company became British Aerospace plc on 1 January 1981. This was reorganized again in in 1985 and again in 1989. Confused? I am!
Info from Bill Gunston’s “World Encyclopaedia of Aircraft Manufacturers”.

Oh, incidentally – Someone recently told me that there’s a 31 at Woodford up for disposal. Can’t comment on the validity of that but if there’s interest…

According to the manuals for our 41 (G-JMAC), they were built at Prestwick by Jetstream Aircraft Ltd – A BAe Company.

Was the same true of the 31’s ?

G-TALL c/n 601 first flight 18/3/82

Last known reg G-WMCC. Parted out at Brum 1997.

Before anyone jumps down my throat, this information is relevant for the J31 first production example only, not the HP137.

Hope it helps Papa Lima.

Sorry to jump in here, but I would like to know the construction number and registration of the first production airframe, along with its first flight date – which may or may not be the same as you are asking, Jetstream Man, but it is still more or less relevant to the thread topic!

Let me clarify this. I only need information specifically regarding information on the ASI example or the fate of the brum firemans example, which the ASI frame might be.

I believe it was Scottish Aviation that produced the Jetstream 31, but I don’t have any more information (my most recent Jane’s is too old!)

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a J31 and who made it? With the manufacturer’s name I may be able to find out more about it.
