hi there!!!
i’m a new kid on the block i would like to know which Licence to go for and why???
which 1 is the Best, better recognized and having better job prospects.
as i’am only 17 i’m not in much of a hurry to get a job and start earning so times not much of a factor for me,yup too much money is but i think we can leave that for the moment.
Heard that JAA is quite difficult and takes longer to get but is it really worth it??
And because i’m choosing aviation as my carrer i’m ready to work very hard so difficulty is also not much of a factor either.
I’am very confused which one to choose  any help will be much appreciated.

The FAA license is effectively worthless in Europe. It sits approximately half way between a JAA PPL and CPL.

hey thanks for the reply again
Got one more query that If i do my flying from U.S and get a CPL and i come to UK for my graduation. And convert my FAA license to JAA one.I only have to give the JAA written papers or do i have to do some flying here also??And after my FAA conversion to JAA would my FAA license would be valid or not.
Wat i mean to ask is can a person hold both FAA and JAA license???
thanks

Firstly to work in the UK on a JAR license you need the right to live & work here, without this it is a futile task.
As for it being easy to get a job, well, no it isn’t easy to get a job, infact once the training is done it is then just as difficult to get an interview let alone a job.
As for obtaining Cargo jobs with just a CPL I think you can forget it, you need a fATPL to be considered, the only things you can expect to do with just a CPL is PPL instructing (provided you do an instructor’s rating), a bit of banner towing and some glider towing, but then you normally find people offer their services for nothing. Again this makes it quite difficult to get into.
Good luck

Firstly where do you live? are you UK based? if so then the JAR fATPL is going to be your best bet, reasons? quite simply there are more options open to you.
If you are looking to do the FAA license then you are restricted mainly to the USA to do your flying, and to do it over there you need to right to live & work in the USA. If you held an FAA license over here then you are limited to N registered aircraft only (someone correct me if this is wrong). This basically means business jets.
With the JAR fATPL you can basically use it in “JAR” land, this opens up most of Europe for you.
The best one for you all depends on what you want to do with your life, where you want to reside etc etc.
