On Mothers Day of all days…thoughts definately go to her kids and all suffering the same illness.
This has made me realise, how scared I am of some illnesses…Ive heard of people to have cancer for 20years upwards…still smoking, drinking etc etc
yet a previously healthy 26/27 year old, can contract an illness of such magnitude and lose the battle in such a short amount of time.
🙁

I guess any death is tragic to those close to the person who passes away. My thoughts are very much with her family, especially her two young sons.
However I am not sure that it was fair to make a big media fuss about the whole thing. I am sure that every year, many young women just like Jade contract cancers that end up cutting their lives short. They only appear in the back of newspapers in the obituaries. Let’s just think of all the unknown scientists and surgeons that make a huge contribution to society and they hardly get a mention. One working class woman makes it big on a fakery of a programme then reappears on a similar programme and makes insulting comments to a woman who is many times more intelligent than her. What is that contributing to our society?? Just sums up celeb culture nowadays quite frankly!!
By the way before you start flaming me, nothing against the wonderful working classes, just making the point that most of these do nothing celebs have originated from the working class.

Granted she was a mother and a human being, but in no way do I think what she ‘did’ in her life deserved as much (if any) coverage. There have been many more great people with as severe or more severe illnesses, that have not had as much attention – and deserved it. There are far greater things going on in this world than some loud mouth having a (granted, terminal) illness and they deserve the column inches. I am glad I won’t have to hear about this anymore (except, no doubt, the funeral coverage over the next week or so).
ITYF that the other people did not crave or seek the attention. She did, and power to her for that. The scrape tests have shot up since she went public.
I only know of JG because of the news coverage of her comment to Shetty and of course this lot. The public get what the public want, the public allow such garbage as BB to be on, so when the contestants are propelled into the limelight, it’s no use saying they don’t deserve it. They deserve it because people with zero brains and far less intellect phone in to vote.
This made her a “Celebrity”, like it or not.

all she was known for was racially assaulting someone on national TV.
However, as you all say, one good thing to come from this…is shes now percieved as an idol to the younger females to get tested, or to just generally highlight the risks.
Have you not just contradicted yourself by saying what you have? She was not known only for her racist remarks in Big Brother but also for raising awareness of cancer in women (as you also mentioned).
People need to get over the racist goings-on in Big Brother. Let’s face it, Jade wasn’t the sharpest tool in the box and I am not convinced she fully understood what was saying at the time. This is the same person that thought ‘East Angular’ was overseas! Jade acknowledged that she had made a mistake, publicly apologised for what was said, had the guts to appear on India’s Big Brother afterwards and she remained a good friend of Shilpa Shetty’s as well.

No matter what any of you think of her or her views …she was a young Mother who was far too young to die from such a nasty disease…God bless her and her family!!!

aye I agree, all the hype is totally blown out of proportion…all she was known for was racially assaulting someone on national TV.
However, as you all say, one good thing to come from this…is shes now percieved as an idol to the younger females to get tested, or to just generally highlight the risks.

By ignoring what the doctors were telling her (abnormal smear test results).
Two children have lost their mother, that is very sad. As for the rest of the Goody circus, well I am sorry but I am past caring.
I agree MotF, sad as it is I’m sick of all the hype.
Though I suppose one good thing to to come out of it is the highlighting of this form of cancer, and maybe other women will heed the warning signs.

I feel so sorry for her family. Especially her children. At the end of the day they have lost their mother and they’re going to have to live with that consequence. Fortunately, family members of mine have over came cancer and are still alive with me today, so I can’t comment on the magnitude of what her family must be going through. But, at the end of the day – she is human … well … was :(.
RIP Jade.

Don’t waste time worrying, mate – what will be,will be.Sad timing I agree , and two of my friends both lost their mothers this week too.Whichever way you look at it,life is short – so you might as well adopt the motto of my student daughter and her friends – “Life’s a bitch/ Tomorrow you die/ So sod the world/ And let’s get high”.I THINK she meant that as a joke.

If there is a tiny piece of good news from this story it’s that the profile of this disease has been raised considerably.
RIP

It is truly terrible, whatever your opinion of her tv career.
Lets hope that some good will come of this, and more young women will go and get vaccinated for this awful disease.
