Just read on another forum that the shipment to Patras, Greece of an ex-RAF Jaguar (said to be XV355) has been halted by Italian officials at Ancona harbour.
Fearful of possible illegal arms trafficking investigations continue.

From a rough translation posted on “Touchdown News” it would appear that the Italian authorities were concerned that the aircraft could easily be recomissioned and put back into the sky with dangerous intentions…..

The aircraft would be XZ355.
Buccaneer XV355 was fed to the scrapman in 1994/5.

Sorry – source was David Cenciotti – quote “according to some sources, the aircraft should be the XV355/FJ stored after retirement at RAF Coltishall.”
Anyone got the right identity?
