I’m wondering how many Jagaurs have made it into safe preservation, by this I mean in a hangar or in a collection that looks after them. The only one i can think of is the test a/c at cosford and the Norwich example. There must be more – and did the Bosses a/c survive after 6 sqaudron disbanded?

Aileron. Thank you for that reminder ! π amongst my large collection of local jags I have those two as well (it’s getting sadder !) ….. Keith.

And a nice little touch for ‘Fly Past’ and Newark ?

Do the raf museum have one ear marked? im astounded they dont have one at hendon seeing as it was such a good servant and an important type. i know they have the ACT aircraft at cosford but its hardly representative of the type.

Some more up-to-date shots of XX741 at Bentwaters during it’s very thorough re-build and restoration.

Regards.

Thanks for that, frustratingly I’m surrounded by servicable units but no stripped down chassis!
By: Arabella-Cox - 8th February 2011 at 13:52
Your local army surplus or MOD contracted scrapyard is best. Or try MilWeb or MVT parts section on feeBay.

Dave you would know better than most, do you know where those ex MoD trolleys/chassis can be obtained?

I seem to remember there’s a nose section in Bletchley Park, with a full instrument fit. Also a tired-looking Harrier.
Could you be confused with Neatishead radar museum who have nose of XX979…?

Just to clarify the nose section at Bletchley Park is off Hunter F6 XF522 not a Jag. The harrier is GR3 XV752. Both are under the charge of 2366 (Bletchley Park) Sqn ATC.

So far only a nose from XX753 here! π

Cranwells Jags
Donβt forget at RAF Cranwell we have the Cranwell Jags that are regularly seen taxing around the airfield, a lovely reminder of things past.
