When DL first took over Pan Am’s JFK hub and all their Euro routes, they also got ahold of their A310’s. I once saw a pic of like 5 DL A310’s all parked at LGW, at once. They didn’t operate those for too long. They wound up leasing 6 of them to Air Jamaica, of which Air Jam still currently uses (not sure if they still have all 6)., and getting rid of the rest. Maybe they even wound up selling those to Air Jam, after the initial lease. Delta also took over Pan Am’s mini FRA hub and operated out of their for a little while with 727’s. They withdrew from there around ’96 and then concentrated their 20+ Euro routes mainly from JFK, but also from ATL.

True ,
I’m a UAL frequent flier , but my brother in law in Long Beach sent us free tickets on DL.

We flew CDG – JFK JFK LAX and LAX ATL ATL CDG.
It was a nice trip. I flew DL in the past from CVG when they operated A310

My old man always uses Air France and likewise, I’ve never flown with them!

Nice backdrop for that pic, taken from Imperial Hill, no doubt. My father flies Delta religiously. Ironic how, I have yet to fly with them.

The cargo MD-11’s will be around for longer than that. Eva and LH Cargo have a few examples that are less than 5 years old.

Well there arent many trijets around anymore, well atleast not to the extent that they were used, and there numbers are dwindling fast… Swiss are replacing there MD11 fleet with new A340’s and im sure NWA is planning on retiring there DC10’s once things start to look better. Nearly every airline operated a long haul trijet at some point, but new and more efficient planes are around now, but nonetheless its a shame to see any aircraft that looks good to disapear, but im sure they will be around for another 10 years!
