Bond 007 car top seller of RM Auctions report Oct. 2010

LONDON (October 29, 2010) – RM Auctions enjoyed a triumphant return to its annual London event this week posting $30,303,292* (£19,147,790) in total sales, with 92 of the 106 lots changing hands for an 87 percent sell through rate. Among the quality collector cars that went under the hammer were eight that surpassed the million dollar mark.

The event’s top seller was the famous 1964 Aston Martin DB5 James Bond movie car; becoming not only the most expensive Aston, but also the most valuable film car ever sold at auction at $4,608,531 (£2,912,000). 😎

“For the past number of years our London sale has been a highlight on RM’s calendar of events, and this year we are once again very pleased with the results,” said Max Girardo, Managing Director, RM Europe.

Levsha, you’re obviously not a Bond fan.

Hampden98, that would be the white Hiller that Pussy flew into Fort Knox, marked up in the film as N-ASAZ (which I understand didn’t sell). The Jag from Die Another day was also sold.

Other Bond memorabilia up for auction Wednesday included a helicopter piloted by Bond girl Pussy Galore in “Goldfinger”

Which one is that?

Someone got a bargain – £2.6m. If only that £113m lottery win had been mine, the car would have been too – I can but dream 🙂
