Yes, thats correct.

Former Dutch built Hunter N-202 is (was) a cockpit section.

The aircraft was purchased by Hawkers and turned into a two seater for a foreign air force.

The nose gravitated to Pinewood studios for use in films (not just 007).

I just watched The Man With The Golden Gun. What is the name of the ampibious flying boat James flew to the “South China Sea” baddy lair?

I have seen one of them up at Ardmore and wondered what they are called. Mr Scaramanga blew it up with his lazer, as you do.

I also noticed the Hunter mentioned, just a cockpit section really.

And we mustn’t forget the flying cars, one being the normal American Motors Hornet Hatchback that Bond commandeered and he made it fly through a roll across the river (cool stunt, apparently designed by a computer at the Cornell University Aeronautical Laboritory in New York – the car had to hit the ramp at the exact speed and angle to achieve the airborne feat. The stunt driver did it in one take and got a $1000 bonus on the spot!).

The other is Scaramanga’s American Motors Coupe which magically sprouts wings and a twin-boom tail and takes off into the blue yonder, hehe, oh dear. I assume this was a model when seen in flight.

Those Roger Moore films were pretty farcical when compared with the Connery ones, weren’t they? I used to think Moore was the best, but that was when I was a kid.

I’ve still got pictures (somewhere) from when i collected it from the 007 stage at Pinewood still in its film all white scheme as ‘black 10’

N-202 was also in ‘Man with the Golden gun’.

It was the ‘Mig’ being winched aboard the upturned Queen Mary in Hong Kong harbour.

Corky Fornoff did indeed fly the BD-5/Acrostar…being a homebuilt you can officially call it whatever you wish.
Back in the 60s and early 70s he and his father flew a pair of Grumman Bearcats in a stunning aerobatic routine. One day his father hit turbulence at low level and was killed. BTW: Fornoff’s younger brother served as a F-15 pilot with the USAF. I asked him if he had done much civil flying and he replied he got some time in the family plane. I asked what sort (expecting to hear a warbird) and he replied the family Lear. Nice family plane!

Got a picture of this 1972 Bede BD-5B Microjet. Taken at Estrella Warbird Museum, Paso Robles California on 04/06/2005. A guy there told me this was the one used for the movie ?????? but which one was it?

The BD-5 in question is actually a BD-5j , one of a hand full (6 if my memory serves me ) jet powered BD-5s made. AT one point it was in the guinness book of records as the worlds smallest Jet plane

There is also a Meyers…later Aero Commander…200 in You Only Live Twice.
It looks a bit odd in some shots (probably a bad model or mockup) before it explodes.
Were those scenes filmed in the UK? The 200 is a rare ship, anyone know its identity?

Also in TLD is G-HUEY. The opening scene in AVTAK has two orange Bo-105s painted with red stars and Soviet-style bort numbers – anyone know about those (except that they are ugly, of course).

Think the C-130 was Moroccan AF. You can even see one of their OV-10 Broncos as a backdrop on the ground!

The C-130H ( serial unknown, taped over ) is Moroccan and there was 1 OV-10A, a Magister and an Alpha Jet.

Ken Wallis has the original Little Nellie and has made a few mock ups but despite being offered huge sums wont part with the original!

I think lots of the bond vehicles were with the cars of the stars museum at Keswick – we offered him the Beech but he only wanted to pay a couple of quid for her!

Texan TomCat, one of the Hiilers used in the Bond Films as a Spectre machine painted yellow is in a hangar not very far from the Sywell museum!!!

Vulcan bomber used in the film Thunderball.
The bomber used in the underwater sequence was not a real plane but a metal frame covered in fabric. The fabric has long since rotted away, and the frame is now covered in gorgonians and looks more like a botanical water-garden than a plane#15

Substantially the same as what I said but no mention of the nose section, maybe they recovered it after filming??

By coincidence, today I caught part of Thunderball. In addition to the planes mentioned there is a Boeing C-97 Stratocruiser used to drop good guy “commandos” off Miami for the big underwater fight scene. There is a quick interior shot of them jumping from the rear underside clamshell doors…a feature found only on the few (64 –plus prototypes) non-tanker C-97s.

Also, Bond is picked up by a US Coast Guard HH-52 Sea Guard. It looks like it was #1388, assigned to Miami in May of 1964..it was last noted as a training aid at a California college.

Yes TLD, Hercs ,Harriers, Nimrods in Gib,Provider/Herc,Bronco,Magister quite a mixture.

I can’t remember which film but it was supposed to be from inside the gas-holders in Vienna. The Living Daylights possibly? The one with Joe Don Baker as a military madman anyway.
