James May builds a 1:1 Airfix Spitfire

Anyone see this last night, BBC2,8pm? He wanted to know if it were possible to take a normal size airfix model such as you get in a small box,and use it along with the original plansand make one lifesize,complete with the bits to cut out of the sprule,including the pilot,all in blue plastic to be assembled by school kids,painted and transfers added? It was pretty cool,especially seeing it being wheeled out of the hangar in fron of WWII veterans who flew the real thing! Quite a special moment!
He also got to co pilot and then control a Seafire two seater,awesome!
