dark light

James May last night.

Did anyone else watch Mr May and the inhabitants of Brooklands build over 2 miles of Scalextric racing track around the old racing site and associated land?
I couldn’t help wondering if any other country would allow such a unique and fascinating venue such as Brooklands, and with so much history attached to it as well, to be cut up and destroyed… absolute sacrilege.!

😉 Good luck might not arrive in time for Christmas:D

Not where I live, mate! Here, if the post office doesn’t steal it, they lose it or break it. No kidding. I will have to send it to someone in a first world country to either bring it or keep it till I go on vacation.

Did anybody see the piece of furniture made from the front end of a Gnat?

Me! I’d love one – how you’d get it indoors and up the stairs I don’t know…

Anyone know how much such an item would set you back?

Did anyone enjoy the Lego house as much as I did? That and the Meccano bridge are my favorites so far, perhaps because they were trying to overcome potentially difficult engineering problems, which none of the others were, in quite the same way.

Anyone know when the rest of the series airs? If my reckoning is right we still have the Lego and trainset ones to see. Or have I missed them? 🙁

According to the Beeb the first 4 will be repeated between 21st -24th December and the last two on the 25th and 30th December.:)

I’m booked to do a few laps in 2010.

Sabine will only see me as a fast-diminishing dot 🙂

In her rear-view mirror 😮

Moggy

Shame – she looked well worth keeping up with:D

Refrained from viewing the post as I only got to watch the repeat tonight. Excellent stuff. I bet half the kids on the 1990’s estate never knew of the history that surrounded them and was beneath their feet. Another small victory for our history. BTW. Took eldest daughter to Cosford yesterday, hasn’t been since her school filmed the airfix prog. Lo and behold, met 4 class mates who had gone with first timer parents, visiting purely because of that episode. Well done Mr May and the Beeb…. don’t often say that.
Regards
Ivan
