Janie flew into Bourn yesterday and got talking to RFC owner Lindsay Brown. Turns out that Janie’s Chipmunk was one of the first aircraft that the Rural Flying Corps owned when it started up at Bourn in 1977. Lindsay was delighted when he was offered a flight. As he strapped himself in to the back cockpit he observed that the harnesses seemed to have been shortened since he owned the aircraft !

Last time I flew, I was trying so hard to concentrate on what I was doing, I was probably gritting my teeth the whole time!! Like this 😀 only not as cheery!

I was deleriously happy. Not only did I find my brakes worked, but as an utter utter utter coincidence, Lyndsay was the first person to ever take me flying in a light aircraft back in 1987 on a sponsored “loop-the-loop” at Bourn.
