I don’t think I’ve asked this before but does anyone know of this remarkable man?Harry Fusao O’Hara? Japanese worked as a journalist, travelled to India joining the Sikhs and Gurkhas, then came to London and fought with honour in the Middlesex regiment where he became a friend of my grandfather. He later joined the RFC as the only Japanese pilot on the western front. His daughter still lives in Holland with whom I’ve been in contact earlier this year. He crashed nd survived, and had already been wounded while in the infantry . A remarkable story. The link is to the London museum with his records. I believe he was awarded the Military medal.
