Japanese air to ground ordinance

As Ja noted on my Brazilian A-4 thread over on naval aviation, “I’m new here” so I have the right to ask stupid questions!!! :p 🙂

Without starting a flame thingy, there at the moment exists a possibility…however small it may be, that Japan and the Republic of Korea may exchange blows over certain interests in the sea of Japan as well as a possible direct result of Korea threatening to overtake Japan as the regional power (ok one of  ).

Despite this possibility, the JASDF seems to lack air-to-ground ordinance on its fighter-bombers….I haven’t seen a fighter carrying anything except iron bombs and the occasional maverick!

Surely they need to buy something a little bit more potent, or am I missing the bigger picture….or have I gone past the picture all together and am now staring at the fire exit??? 😮

I’m not talking about Anti-ship missiles, that they have in boat loads I know, but why haven’t they got any stand-off ground attack munitions? Why no cluster bombs or Harm’s or whatever else u care to mention
