Japanese airforce capability in the 80s

During the 1980s was the Japanese airforce equipped with

1-PGM like maverick, walleye

2-Laser guided bombs

3-Did they have any night strike capability ? esp anti-ship night strike

4-Were they equipped with any specific jammers for their aircraft

Thanks

As J-20 said: it is a defensive force, and being an island, the primary equipment was for counter-air and anti-ship. As long as you cant approach by air or by sea, they are safe 😉

^ well first and foremost, there is no Japanese Air Force. but an air component of the Japanese Self Defense Force.

the nuance in this is that they’re not designed for offensive operations. Hence no bombers and a focus on only air defense and anti shipping. no ground attack in the earlier days.
Even their C-1 was intentionally designed to have limited range, which made it unable to even fly to Okinawa. hence the larger C-2.
