From the California Capital Airshow FB page:
A star fell from the sky today…
It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Jeff Harris, whom many of you remember as being the pilot of the silver P-38 Lightning “Honey Bunny,” owned by Jack Croul of Allied Fighters in Chino. Jeff has been a friend of our show and a faithful participant for years, and his absence will be felt by many. He was an inspiration to everyone he met, he shared his love for aviation more passionately than most, and he will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family, to the P-38 National Association, with whom Jeff was extensively involved and a huge supporter of, and to all of the veterans whose lives were touched by Jeff showing up in that beautiful aircraft. We will miss you, dear friend. Blueskies and God speed.

Shocked and saddened to read this. I was about to drop him a line on Facebook, having not talked in awhile. Very sad I didn’t do his sooner. Jeff was indeed a great guy. Rest in peace Jeff.

Jeff Harris
Likewise. Such a shock.
Lovely guy, so generous with his time.
Knew him for 8 years and involved heavily with Allied Fighters and the P47D ‘Dottie Mae’ restoration. So sad he will not see the first flight. Cracking onging restoration by Mike Breshears/Airframe Assemblies in ID as well as other projects.
