I have my booked my holidays for the beginning of September this year and I am thinking of seeing the Jersey International Air Display for a number of reasons.
The first I understand there is no charge to see the display?
The flying display lasts for the best part of four hours?
They open a static display for Joe and his public.
There is always some unusall aircraft that they try and get, I have heard they are hopeing to get the Vulcan XH558 down there and that is one of the reason I booked my holiday to get to see this wonderful aircraft back in the sky and doing a flying display.
Does any one know at this stage on what else they might be hopeing to get?.
I understand some aircraft take part on the same day in Guernsey over the water at another of the Channel Islands.
Will it be a display to watch and have a good holiday at the same time?

I see The Atlantique Classic Flight are operating down to the Jersey Air Display, does any one know if they are planning any pleasure flights while they are there.
I was reading last weekend the ones at Blackpool were cut short as the poor old Dak went U/S, a friend of mine was looking forward to his trip with his good lady, he is going to Jersey for the show and that is one of the reasons I am looking at joining him.
A number of years ago they did do about four or five pleasure trips, a friend of mine who was there was on one of them.
In the last Propliner there was an article about pleasure flights of the Normandy Landing beaches does any one know any thing to do with that story.
As I understand it a Rapide is pencilled in for operating pleasure flights during the week of the show. But like anything the situation could change at short notice so watch this space or keep an eye on www.classicflight.com

I was lucky enough to fly down to Jersey a few years ago for the liberation display and I was able to take my son along who was 7 at the time and it was his first ever flight.Something he will never forget !:D
If you do go by Dak ,I can say it is a real treat, everyone turns out to see you taxi in and it is a real conversation stopper at the airport, when you tell folks, ‘oh thats what we flew in today…’ as everyone is looking at it.
Also it was quite humbling to fly home over the channel with the sun setting and to think of all those other Dakotas and their crews and passengers who flew the same route but many of whom never returned……
Regards, Alan
