Aside from which, is it just me or is the citybound onslip on to the Sydenham Bypass far, far too short. Once I’ve ended up having to continue on to the hard shoulder as there simply was no gap to migrate into and on several occasions a combination of split second timing and the consideration of other drivers has been necessary to get actually get off the onslip and on to the road home. The onslip on to the Bangor / Holywood carriageway is similarly ridiculous as well.

Once IKEA opens plan is to make the main exit for non City Bound through the “Holywood Exchange”. The country bound slip is ridicious being approx 10m long! Best thing to do if busy is to wait until someone comes into the lane to enter City Airport from city bound.

I can remember Flybe calling themselves Northern Ireland’s original low-cost airline, or something like that! Isn’t that a laugh. Before Easy, low cost they certainly were not and some might say that are still not low cost.

Yup, as I have found previously – it is cheaper to pay for a flight with easyJet than to book a free flight with flyBE!

The City Airport has certainly come on leaps and bounds in recent years, but until the Westlink is sorted out as someone who lives in Moira, morning flights are practically inaccessible and sitting in traffic for over an hour on the Westlink on the way home from a teatime arrival from Bristol a couple of weeks back, has made me think twice about the wisdom of flying to/from BHD any time soon. A mate of mine who lives in North Belfast can actually get to BFS quicker than he can get to BHD at the moment… 😮

Glasgow Prestwick is just 25mins from Glasgow City centre, try doing that in London from LHR, LGW, STN or LTN.

I assume you know of the new 5 yet to be announced from easyJet, not including the recently announced Krawkow? 😀 Awfully hard to keep up these days, and all those destinations to choose from for a holiday.

While on the airports subject, don’t forget Glasgow Prestwick, even it’s website says ‘Just 32 miles from Glasgow City Centre.’

Don’t forget Ringway Airport…. miles away from Manchester. 🙂

If you use the theory that an airport should be named after the city it is nearest to then BFS should rename itself Lisburn International – Lisburn had city status conferred on it last year and is much closer to BFS than Belfast is!

Not a lot between them I’m afraid, straight line distance in Google Earth from each city centre to the reference point for the aerodrome, there isn’t even a mile between them.

Type in Lisburn-Belfast International and Belfast-Belfast International to the RAC Route Planner. It gives a 18.6mile (estimated 24min) from Belfast, and 18.4mile (28min) journey from Lisburn. Again, hardly ‘much closer.’

Being serious, I respect your views but all we EVER seem to hear is anti-BFS.

They also claim to be ” Newcastle’s low cost airline ” Which I guess they kinda are.

Personally i like Flybe Adverts on the side of The Oval, Dont be EASYly mislead.

Personally i find it teadious at best calling BFS Belfasts Airport given its something like 12 miles from the greater belfast boundary as the crow flies.

Jet2 also consider themselves to be “Manchester’s low cost airline” and “The North’s Low Cost Airline”.

But then isn’t Bhd the home of everything not low cost, the airport favoured by business pax, they don’t want to go near Bfs and the airport we apparently all want to use but pax nos keep falling?

If BFS was nowhere near Belfast them I’m sure it wouldnt be called Belfast International, its not like it’s a Ryanair airport…
