I know we have been over this a few this about long haul from LBA. I am only passing on what i have been told so don’t shoot me down straight away. A good friend who i used to work with is now in a senior position at Jet 2. This person tells me that they are planning to start operations to New York round about sept time. There will be two flights a week. One on a thurs and one on a sun. It is not yet clear what equipment will be used ? Also there a plans to start up a Boston route later on in the year. Anyone else heard anything ?

I have heard of the NY route aswell, “So they say” … the latest Jet2 757 (G-LSAG) has New York written on the front and that it will be seated into Bussiness class.
But as i say, there just rumours.

I’ve also heard that LS plan to start NYC, but from MAN not LBA.

There has been that many rumours about this going round for ages now i thinks its just best to wait and see what happens.
Strong rumours are about that they have an aircraft read to use for the route but then again, there was that rumour that Jet2 would be operating the 767 by now.
Im hopeing that if they do decide to take the route on they would consider NCL!

Yeah if it is true then what about Economy and Biz Class. Will it be a Few Extra Inches at the Front Of the Aircraft lest say 37/38. If it is true i would much rather see CO do the LBA-EWR link plainley beacause they have better connections at the other hand and i dont think there will be enough O&D traffic at LBA anyway. Eqiutment wise i think they will use a 757-200 in the first few months.
Lets hope this is better then GSM LPL-JFK link
