More details
I have the time to give you some more details.
We have started intensive training with our B-25 “Russell’s Raider” to be ready for the summer season. This W/E we made 4 long training flights.
Our instructor was Peter Kuijpers and on the left seat Michael, Stef and myself. Saturday morning, we started with general airwork, steep turns, recovery from stalls, simulated engine failures… in the valley between Sion and Brigg. In the afternoon we made “standard” pattern (patterns in Sion and Ambri are everything except “standard” !!!) and “touch and go” at Sion airport but we had to stop for the noise; the airport received several complains… That’s why, on Sunday we went to Ambri to go on with touch and go and simulated engine failures and other abnormals.
My first impressions are that the 1940’s manuals are right: “if you can taxi the Mitchell, you can fly it”. But for taxi… I was sweating!!! 😡 😡
Next is Wednesday and Tuesday, Philippe is rejoining us to start his own training, so we will be 5 pilots for the Airshows.
The first will be “Yverdon” 2,3 Jully, with the official start of JAF Club.
Keep on looking to our web site: www.jaf.ch
More news to come.
Ciao

nose art
That’s because we have a “press day” on the 9 June for the new nose art of our B-25 and for the creation of our new association: “Jet Alpine Fighter Club”, founded last week 🙂 🙂 . We would like to keep this new painting +- secret till the 9 :dev2: . But I’m sure that they were some photographer along the RWY in Sion this W/E who took pics of it !
Don’t worry, I will provide you with the best shots.
Look at this one in the mean time…
