I’m sorry in advance if this comes across as heavy-handed, but I really can’t allow this thread to set a precedent.
If anyone has a problem with a decision made on another website, they should take the matter up with the management of the site in question.
I’m sorry, chaps, but any similar threads will be considered off-topic in the future and will be treated accordingly.

I have to agree with them unfortunately. Bear in mind that you’re shooting an aircraft in the sky, not a ‘scene’ where you often want a lot of space for the image to breathe (well… Aviation images still need space, just not quite that much!) The crop in this photo just isn’t tight enough for it to be focussed properly on the aircraft. That said, it’s a great quality photo and it should be very easy to get it to an acceptable standard. Just try cropping it a little closer and you shouldn’t have any problems at all!
I know that was blunt but… Well… That’s just me! Hope it helped. 🙂

P.S. With regard to aspect ratio, all my aviation stuff and most of my non-aviation work is at 3:2. It just seems to work well for most things and it’s the aspect ratio most DSLR ‘s produce naturally.
