Hello All
I am OC Ops at RAF Halton Airfield and I can confirm the following for you:
1. XW364 arrived from RAF Cosford in late November 2012.
2. She was mounted on her belly and chained to the concrete apron.
3. She will be used for a ‘crashed aircraft’ leadership exercise for RAF Halton’s Airmens’ Command Squadron http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafhalton/aboutus/airmenscommandsquadron.cfm
4. She will also be used a training aid for fire training (no live fires!).
5. She has had both her ejection seats removed, her engine, all of her instruments and controls as well.
Please note that the aircraft sits on MOD property and is not a public right of way – she sits outside the RAF Police Dog Section. If you want to get up close then you will need to come as part of an Aviation Enthusiasts Group and then apply in accordance with this link http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafhalton/aboutus/visitingus.cfm.

No its not the one in the photo. The horse jump is still there, this is an additional one over by the tower. It has its wings on but the undercarriage is retracted. It has arrived this week.

The previous Horse Jump was XR672 a Mk 4 which was there from 1992

Its not left over from the 1 SoTT days -it was brought in from Cosford circa probably 2008
??? I’m sure there was a JP in use as a horse jump at Halton back in 1993.. Did they switch airframes then?

You may have seen a unique jump made for the Equestrian club.
When I was there last it was the front and rear portion with the middle cut out. They replaced the middle with wood to form a jump for the cross country course.
