Jet Provost XN 494 now resides at Cornwall College as a ground training aircraft for aeronautical engineering students.
Since arriving late last year the students have removed the control surfaces for repair and painting.
Removed the control cables which had been cut and are now being repaired.
Restored and remanufactured the rear control lock assembly
Finally got all of the tyres to hold pressure.
Removed the seats and restored the canopy system (without explosives)
Removed the canopy cable system for restoration.
So far so good, but if anybody has any copies of JP AP’s it would be much appreciated. I can get them scanned or even better if you have them on disc already.
The long term intention is to get her ground running but that’s probably quite some time off and is obviously dependent on spares availability.
