Jet2 737 at Lisbon

This afternoons Jet2’s 733 Tenerife Flight is in at Lisbon. Is this a refuelling stop because of wind problems, and size of plane, or do we have a problem. I thought the 733’s had been modified to reach Tenerife in one hop??

Theres alot of 757’s on the second hand market too, mind you they would be likely to go tech. I think 717s could be possible, afterall theres a few been made redundant already worldwide.

I doubt they would want to spend loads of money on -700s when they have perfectly good -300s flying around. The odd technical problem can happen to any airline, Jet2 just seem to be going through a rough spell.

LBAspotter – I stand corrected :).

Might it be something to do with the fact that most of them are getting a bit long in the tooth now. Aren’t most around 20 years old?

Perhaps it’s time they looked at updating them by a few years or maybe even looked at 700s.

The Sunday service has always been a bit of a strange one, the fact that a) it has only ever been operated by 733s, and b) it has been dropped, begs the question why it was ever done in the first place.

Just to make an amend to this last quote by LBArules: The B757-200 G-LSAA did in fact operate the Sunday Tenerife flight only last week and also the first 3 weekends of Boeing 757-200 Operations in October 2005. Also the Sunday flights dose’nt get dropped until the summer season starts. This is because the Leeds based Fleet is needed else where. So they can’t actully do the flight.

Also another Jet2.com Boeing 737-300 (G-CELY) broke down on departure from LBA last night (Sunday 15/01/06). She taxied out to Runway 14 for a departure to Prague as the LS195. Just a few minutes late she returned to Stand. So she was also replaced by another B737-300.

Guess which one??

The one and only B737-300 (G-CELC) which was the aircraft involved in last Wednesday insdent. Looks like they might be some problems with the Jet2.com Boeing 737-300’s at the moment.

That is very true. Sadly the vast majority of passengers won’t be seeing it that way.

Hence me saying “not good for the passengers”:)

Hmm…Not good for LS or the passengers but I can think of far worse places to be stuck than LIS!

LS224 TENERIFE 2340 DELAYED 0330

Is the current situation. Must be broken down in Lisbon.
