Thats nt great utilisation is it? It cant even sub in for anything gone tech because its all the way down getting a sun tan in TFS!!!

Would appear that, for the winter, the TFS based 757 aircraft is to leave TFS at 8am returning at 6pm and serving Blackpool on Monday & Friday, Newcastle on Tuesday & Saturday and Belfast on Thursday & Sunday. MAN & LBA flights to TFS are UK based.

I saw G-LSAC yesterday it was operating LBA-ALC-LBA a very nice aircraft and made a difference from the A319/A320s and 737s in ALC.

Whats the chances of NCL getting a 757 route??
NCL have got a 757 route its to TFS!. I dont think they are getting at 757 but its being operated by LBA/MAN crew!

So there will be no services with Jet2, from Edinburgh, for most of the winter!!

FlyMonarch – MAN-EDI was on sale until the end of October. It is now on sale only until the end of September. So this is nothing to do with them being late in loading the winter schedule.

Fair enough mate!
By: FlyMonarch - 24th August 2006 at 15:09
Yeah i can see where your coming from but also it costs money to load the ‘Bars’ onto the aircraft, it also costs money to get the off loaded, where they are taken to bond and re counted etc, and fro what we are selling i know on the MAN-EDI is nothing, for example i was doing an MAN-EDI-MAN and we sold 1 coffee, 1 flap jack and a muffin. the flap jack was for me and the muffin was for the F/O so a grand total on that flight was £4.10 so i can see why they are stopping!
now like you say about ‘Hand Running’ the service yeah but again it still costs to put the bars on.
Ryanair Crew need all the commision they can get from what i have heard from people who work and worked there they dont get a basic pay!!!
By: LBARULES - 24th August 2006 at 14:56
Fair enough. But for example last night on my bmi flight, the cabin crew passed through with a notepad asking if anyone wanted anything to drink or eat, and the likes of Ryanair regularly fit a service into 30-40 minute flights from the UK to Dublin.
It doesn’t bother me, but I just thought it would be worthwhile from a Jet2 point of view.
By: FlyMonarch - 24th August 2006 at 14:54
yeah but if you think that on MAN-EDI its about 40mins an LBA-BFS is what about 35mins? and at 20mins to landing the crew need to secure galleys and the cabin and then take thier seats it only leaves you 10 – 20 mins to do a service, and incorparated into that time is getting released to actually get out of seats. and with bad wheather expecially on the MAN-EDI can get bad in the morning. There is just no point in doing a service.
By: LBARULES - 24th August 2006 at 14:21
Really surprises me that Jet2 do not offer any service on the short Belfast flights. You would think that they could at least pass through the cabin without a trolley and take any orders, and then they might earn some money that they may not otherwise.
Bet the cabin crew love it though!

I think he means they’re axing the service element of the flights – so no Buy On Board etc. rather than cancelling the flights.
thanks Phil atleast sum1 knew what i meant :p

?? contradiction?

🙂 service as in In-Flight Service, Teas, Coffees, snacks etc
should have made it a bit more clear,!! :diablo:
Oh I see, thanks for clarifying. 😉
However, I’m still not convinced that the service is staying, the website says it ends on the 29th September, with no bookings being taken beyond that date, and LGW is on sale for winter now. That’s only about a month a way and I think it would be very short notice by Jet2’s standards for them to release seats for October now, even for the EDI route. Would happily be proven wrong though!

Hi Robertt, I dont think we axing the EDI from MAN
however we have been told that the service will stop on the EDI
?? contradiction?
By: FlyMonarch - 24th August 2006 at 13:12
Hi Robertt, I dont think we axing the EDI from MAN, this happened to the LGW a few month back, it wouldnt let you get go any further than october an it said the same thing, operates up until ***** i think its just a re jig of scedule. however we have been told that the service will stop on the EDI an it will be like the LBA-BFS or BFS-BLK it will operae without a service!
