Jet2 acquired aircraft

Does anyone have any more information of the two Jet2 acquired 757’s?

Jethro’s website states that they have been acquired and are due. Does anyone know where from and which aircraft they are?

Then what’s the point in leasing an aircraft when it holds nearly the same as the 737? I can’t understand it

also the 146 is cheaper to run than a 737

Hhmmm. Let me think. To get another aircraft maybe?

Usually if an aircraft is needed short term or at short notice.

Were sales on these any good and do they still produce these.

2003 was last delivery i believe. The plan was to continue with the RJX series, but that fell through.

I think sales were good due to its once unique STOL performance. Don’t know exact numbers of deliveries though

2000km i think. so anywhere in Europe pretty much. depends though on other factors such as wind and payload

mmmm wouldnt like to spend more than 2 hours on one. Were sales on these any good and do they still produce these.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the nominal seating capacity of a 146?

100/110 I think (?) though it depends on the model.

BAE146 😮 I hear these planes aint too nice to go on

I don’t mind the 146, it’s just a little unusual I suppose.

It is very quiet outside, but some argue that’s because they pipe the noise into the cabin. There are some very strange noises when the flaps are moving, I guess due to the airflow down the outside of the fuselage changing.

The overhead locker space is fairly limited especially under the wing. The six across config is a little tight, but not unusual though, at least here in the UK. I’ve travelled on 146/RJ100 of Air UK, Dan Air, Loganair, Manx, Jersey European/British European/FlyBe and Cityflyer/British Airways/CitiExpress and they all had 6 across.

BAE146 😮 I hear these planes aint too nice to go on, and im suprised to find some are in a 3-3 config, must be very cramped.
Apparantly Air Malta withdrew theres after a year or 2, due to passenger complaints. Anyway would be nice to see one in JET2 colours and hope we see them at LBA. Would love to see a 733,757 and a 146 together at same time in silver.

I’d heard the same!

So is the 146 going to be permanent?

I think it depends on what they decide to do on the LGW route.

If it goes, which I think it may well do, then the 146 may get placed onto the other short-haul Jet2 services like to Amsterdam, or at LBA to Belfast etc.., or returned to Flightline

If LGW is to stay, then it may well be permanent. Certainly the loads need to pick up though – they can’t be making anything much on it at all

i’m thinking for July of doing LGW-MAN (LS on 146), MAN-BHD-MAN (BE D8), MAN-LGW (BA 734). That way i’d get to go on 2 planes new to me!

I am also really interested to know when the 146 will be used, an LBA-BHD-LGW-MAN trip sounds excellent, getting two 146s and a Dash 8 in the same day, and all for £60!

if so looks like LS are turning into steroetypical full service airline lol 😉

BAe 146 – reigonal
B733 – european
B757 longer european routes

but somehow i dont think that will happen
