Was in Glasgow city centre today and when I was walking under the green tunnel at Central Station (Anyone from or been to Glasgow will know what I am talking to) I seen a bus with an advertisement for Geneva £23 Jet2.com on the side of a bus. It did not say it was flying from Leeds to I am guessing most people in Glasgow who see this will presume it is a GLA departure and not LBA. Why is this being advertised in Glasgow? New LS GVA-GLA route? LS advertising in Glasgow for Leeds flights? Or what I think it might just be, a bus on loan from a Leeds company to a Glasgow company?

I was quite misled ( which isnt difficult) by the title of this post.
Shouldnt it read Jet 2 advertise in Glasgow ?

Hi EK
The Tunnel you refer to is called the “Heilanmans Umbrella on Argyle Street.”That part of Argyle street beneath the railway bridge leading to Central Station acquired the nickname Heilanmans Umbrella when it came to be used as a rendezvous for exiles from the Highlands and Islands.
And the company that runs the the Red and Yellow buses is called Citybus I haven’t seen the advertisement on them but will look out for it.
Hope this helps.
Cheers fot that info, i have seen city bus around before but just didnt know the name for that. Regarding what Shamrock said, i also thaught that there was a law in the UK regarding that.

A lot of the arriva buses round here in Teesside advertise Jet2……some of them Durham Tees Valley Airport, and some bmi (LHR-MME) 🙂 We even had some that were transferred up from Kent that advertised EZY from LGW for a little while 🙂

Stagecoach bus? A lot of buses from Manchester were drafted into Carlisle after the floods wiped out the vast majority of buses in Carlisle. A lot of these buses advertise Jet2 from MAN. Perhaps one of these buses found it’s way to Glasgow somehow

So it didnt sprcify weather it was from GLA or LBA. We have a piece of legislation here in Ireland and Im sure its the same in every other EU country. But if someone thinks the flight are from GLA and it didnt specify otherwise LS may find themselves in a spot of bother.

Wow, didnt know the adverts for Jet2 from LBA spread that far..

You also get them up here on the buses sometimes, although they advertise departures from LBA.

Yellow and Red is the old livery of some of their London buses so it maybe went London-Leeds-Glasgow. There is no yellow and red operators in Leeds though as far as I am aware
