I think it’ll go 2x daily after a while, assuming that initial loads are OK. The current flight times aren’t exactly brilliant – 1 flight a day isn’t extremely useful.

Interesting indeed a far cry from most of their other destination.I would assume that if it is succsesfull they will start doulbe daily flights to suit the buisness men.

And with England playing their first 2 world cup games in Frankfurt and Cologne which are both pretty close to DUS that route would certainly perform well next June.

But DUS got a recent slot extension, which means they can handle more flights now. Seems like some LCO are considering operating to DUS. Easy and Jet2 were rumored in addition to the usual candidates like 4U, HLX and AB.

Anyway, is this the first German route for Jet2?

Yes it would be Jet2.com’s first german destination while it would as be the first destination in germany served from Leeds/Bradford Airport and the Yorkshire region. No flights from eaither Donny.

bmi have wanted to go into german market from LBA in the past but Lufthansa have always stopped them doing it. Same also has happened when bmi have applied for a daily LBA – copenhagen service, 3 Times now, Last time round a couple of years back they even announced it. But again was dropped before it even started. This was blamed on SAS. Both airlines LH/SAS say it would effect there Manchester operations too much. I some how think is some thing to do with the Star Alliance group.
