Jet2 @ LBA wait on annonucement of Thomsonfly destinations

Hi all

Been informed by a mate of mine who works at LBA

He has been told that jet2 have plans to announce new routes from LBA once they known where Thomsonfly will be flying to from nearby Rodin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Those flights will be announce this week.

So anyone wants to guess the new routes?

Also he has informed me that bmi baby will take over flights to Cork & Jersey with W leged aircraft from other Airports so to allow bmi regional to start once daily flights to Copenhagen with ERJ135 and Frankfurt with a ERJ145.

Jet 2 do plenty of consumer research – the LBA website often has questionnaires asking passengers for route suggestions. Still waiting for Lisbon to be added though!

Seems a bit cynical imo. Don’t Jet2 do any real consumer research? I like Jet2 but LBA location is hopeless for anyone living outside immediate area. Let’s hope that Thomsonfly and Jet2 don’t get involved in cut-throat competition and offer a good choice of services from both airports.

Sounds interesting, and it does all make sense! ORK and JER are prodominatly leisure based routes so baby may increase the market if available on a B735 and FRA and CPH would ideally suite connections to the Star network and would be major coups for the airport.

hi again

Forgot to tell you all its jet2 second birthday on December 11th so this could be the day for new routes to be announced out of its home base Leeds/Bradford Airport.

I sure the press will be keen about reporting it.

Interesting…. CPH was announced but did never start yeah. Would love to see FRA, been rumours of Baby doing the Cork and Jersey flights for a while now, would seem to make sense.

Jet2 new routes? Looking at the Manhester routes, maybe BUD,Valencia and Gatwick? (I hope!). Would love them to start a German routes, Maybe Cologne?
