Thats like bmibaby opening a NCL base even though MME is just down the road.

Well, they are opening a base at BHX, which isn’t too far from EMA.

Try believing MAN is just down the road from Leeds at 8 o’clock in a morning! If that was an argument LBA wouldn’t exisit as MAN serves all destinations currently served by LBA. If I left Leeds now (8.10am) it could take me up to two hours to do the 60 miles trip to MAN. I’ve done the LCY flight from MAN and I had to leave Leeds at 6am for a 9.30am flight to ensure I missed all the traffic.

Not many passengers using Jet2 at LBA travel over the Pennines – most prefer to use MAN or Liverpool.

I saw it coming :D, have been reading about it for a while on Pprune, I am happy for MAN, but hope they wont abandon LBA.

I really hope we get Valencia, Pisa and Budapest at LBA now!

Just had it confirmed that GCELF / I and the three outstanding B733’s ( GCELG / J / K) still to be delivered to Channel Express, are all destined for Jet2

Well, I don’t think its such a smart move. Manchester is just down the road from Leeds.

The Dart Group are no-one’s fools and you can bet that they’re done their homework really carefully before committing to a MAN base.

They can clearly see a market for their product and, given their record to date, who can argue with them?

It’s caught almost everyone on the hop in these parts too, bmi-star. They kept this one really close to their chest.

ZB lost what class and marketing advantage they had when they ditched their much-hyped free meals, drink service and free bottle of plonk!

They used to advertise the ‘differences’ between their service and no frills. Now they will have to compete on cost alone and I hop they pay dearly for it!

Futhermore, ZB manages to compete with EZY at both LGW and LTN and with WW at MAN and our loads remain very healthy. We’ve never had so many passengers on the ZB routes – especially since the service changes brought online lower fares and more fare levels! However, I realise I am wasting my time even typing this for your benefit, you silly little boy.

One other observation, JET2, to the best of my knowledge, are a no frills airline. What would the difference be between JET2 having no free meals and ZB having no free meals? Can you explain that please, Mr. Chief Executive Officer of IATA!!!???

2 million ZB passengers a year disagree with you Whingemeister! 😉

Welcome to MAN, JET2 – I love your colour scheme.
