Jet2 to Egypt

I’ve just been having a browse on the Jet2 website and under their package holidays section I see that they’re operating a winter service from Manchester to Sharm-El-Sheikh! I’ve not seem any publicity or advertising regarding this. The flight schedule is as follows.

MAN – 09:30
SSH – 17:00

SSH – 18:00
MAN – 21:45

7 night all inclusive packages look to start at £399.00.

Is this something that I’ve missed?

Imagine how much companys like Titan, Luzair and Euroaltantic make out of leaseing aircraft.

All good Bueiness sense loaning an aircraft.

Prime example correct me if im wrong but done companys like My Travel and Thomas Cook lease there aircraft out when there not been used as much in the Winter. Eg the Haj.

they cocked up sending the 763’s to Air India.

They made money from leasing the 767-300s to Air India, Tommy.

That’s why they’re in business – to make money. 😎

Cuase they dont want to be a failure like GSM they want to be a sucess and so far they have unlike GSM

I don’t think you’d could call an airline who has spent every year of it’s operating life in the black a “failure”. They have certainly made mistakes and the management could do with a good kick up the **** but for what they’ve done, particuarly in Scotland, they could never be called a failure. They’ve been a great success story in my books.

A profitable airline is a failure? Well thats a new one for me. Did LS make a profit in their first year of operations?

Yes GSM have had their fair share of problems and they have been rightly severely criticised, but at the end of the day, the planes are still being filled and the money is still coming in.

Why don’t they try operating to New York, Toronto or Orlando like GSM.

Aha, the website is a bit misleading then as is states that flights are operated by Jet2.

I doubt they will start operating across the pond Tommy as theres too much competition in that market. Fares are already very cheap. I would say that some of the Greek Islands and Cyprus may be a better option.

Some suggestion elsewhere that the flights will be operated by XL

This is correct. Jet2 has purchased seats on the XL aircraft to test the water so to speak.
