JetBlue N547JB

I retrieved this in my archives.

JetBlue on a sunny day ( 🙂 ) at LGB California. I loved this flight and I will never hesitate to fly with them again.

I’ve seen similar signs for the destination when boarding flights at Southampton where none of the stands have jetties.

Perhaps on larger aircraft they use seat row signs as well, but I’ve only flown on Embraer 145’s, Dash 8’s and Trislander’s from there so they wouldn’t need them.

I’m a bit puzzled by your comment TWA302. The JetBlue photo IS in the U.S.

1L.

BA00100 – totally wrong – Bemused made a VERY valid point about Locos and the Boeing 737 and i agree whole heartedly with him on his point (about 737)

I would hazard a guess that Beech 1900D wouldnt use steps as the prop would be too close to stairs when docking?? Even since it had its own steps that doesnt dictate anything as Fokker 100s at EGAA used the old air bridge!!

Whats the likelyhood of the boarding process when I board a Continental Express Beech 1900D flight at Fort Lauderdale in September?

Surely a stroll across the tarmac and not a bridge? My reasoning being the B1900 is too small for an airbridge.

I see so many pics of European airports where you deplane via stairs..Heck over here we don’t have many places where you can claim that. 🙁 . Even at tiny airports like KMKG here in the US where there are only two friggin gates, they have jet ramps to deplane people from SF340,CRJ200, B1900…stupid…

Quite possible.

The big players can afford to buy new, start ups generally cannot.

You seem to forget that it was because of the 737 that Low cost Carriers are about.

It was the cheap, efficient and reliable 737 that made the low cost model feasable and successfull.

So true. I guess now that the succes the A320 family on the LoCo market is due to the arrival of second hand a/c on the market.

And what exactly does this have to do with the topic?

Any airline that operates the Airbus models get my vote any day to those 737’s

Looks fairly simple to me.
After the Aircraft arrives, its take a few minutes to shutdown and open the doors.

In that time a team of ramp rats could pull these signs over from beside the gate.

I doubt it takes more that a minute or two.

Does JetBlue leave that layout of signs etc there as that must takes ages to clear away and set out compared to the “Pig” used in UK airports!

I think that boarding and deboarding via airstars brings back a bit of the romanticism of flying. Its just hella cool

Thats a cool Pic.

I love getting on/off aircraft via airstars. I like the Destination sign and the directions for the seats. If that was a prop plane, you’d be forgiven for thinking the photo was from the 50’s
