JetBlue offers $1 fares to active Military members

JetBlue is offering $1 fares to active-duty military members for flights out of Washington Dulles and Richmond International airport, The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports. The paper writes “men and women serving in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force or Coast Guard can book the $1 fares … for travel to any nonstop domestic destination between Friday and May 31.”The paper says JetBlue’s $1 military fare is to commemorate National Military Appreciation Month. JetBlue also said it would donate $15,000 to the nonprofit Wounded Warrior Project, according to the Times-Dispatch. JetBlue says military members hoping to snag a $1 fare must book by May 7 “or while seats last.” Check out this JetBlue link for details.

So far, the promotion is available only at Dulles and Richmond airports. “This type of promotion has never been created before, so we wanted to roll it out on a smaller scale to our service members in and around our nation’s capital in honor of National Military Appreciation month to ensure we have the necessary resources in place to support the promotion properly,” JetBlue spokesman Sebastian White tells Today in the Sky. But, he adds that “based on the success of our $1 fares in RIC and IAD, our goal is to roll this out on a larger scale.”
