Im not sure if this is true but i was talking to my partner who’s aunty works with Australian Airlines, and he said she was saying that when Jetstar start long haul international services that Australian Airlines will dissolve into Jetstar, is this true? can anyone confirm this.

I think it would be silly, they should make Australian Airlines the Long Haul Brand, sure keep Jetstar in with the international route but only on Tasman routes and Pacific Islands, i think it would be better to do with Australian Airlines on the long haul, the airline has a nice colour scheme for one and seems to be doing quite well, they are going double daily to Tokyo soon, and increased services to Bali, although they have suspended their 3 x Weekly Cairns – Fukuoka service but other than they have been doing quite well.

It would be a prudent move, They really don’t need two ancillaries competing against each other for passengers to similar destinations!!
