Jimmy Savile

A UK TV and culture icon has passed away at 84.
He wanted to join the RAF but instaed was sent to work in the coal mines.
A brush with death led him to the entertainment world.
His charity works are legion and hopefully, he’ll be remembered for them for a long time.
A life well-lived, someone who really “gave back”.

As, it is becoming apparent, many others could have as well, but felt constrained by their positions and circumstances, neither of which troubled Icke, as he was regarded as batty, anyway, so had nothing to lose.

Yes I know. 😉

As I’ve said before Ike is a weird person who comes out with many
outlandish theories, which don’t take a genius to find using Google.

Although in this instance he publicly named Savile and his accomplices several
years ago.

This is a very interesting article regarding the BBC, CH4 and McAlpine.

Well the way it looks to me is that the BBC were very keen to get the spotlight off themselves over Jimmy Saville. They saw a chance to throw the spotlight onto the Tories (the hated Tories some might say) and took a flyer. It backfired.
So what we end up with is two sections of the establishment–which is as far as I’m concerned the real enemy, fighting a turf war, and as usual, lawyers, politicians and other assorted ‘hangers on’ getting rich on taxpayers money.
Meanwhile, the rest of us continue paying tax–if we’re lucky enough to have a job, and get squeezed ever harder.
I say a pox on all their houses–there isn’t one of them worth a good w*nk.
I wouldn’t rely on any of them to sit the right way on a toilet seat–and when I’m swept to power on a wave of popular support, the most reliable work to get will be as part of a firing squad–because they’ll be working 24/7.

And seriously for once…
The very real victims of Saville, The Welsh care homes scandal, and no doubt a thousand other dark places where none of us have ever heard of (or would probably want to hear of) and where the smart-*rse reptiles of the media care not to poke around in, carry on getting b*ggered as ever.

Andy.

PS: My choice of words is very intentional.

Exactly Charlie, Doctors are struck off as are nurses. Their ‘victims’ can claim through medical negligence insurance. All Doctors have it. What’s the point of being told all your life to do your best and to do things right when, in the case of Entwistle and some of the banking fraternity, they are rewarded for their failures. Where is the incentive to do well when you know you are still going to get a nice little pay off for performing spectacularly badly?

And the tragedy of all this about Newsnight and the BBC is that it is detracting from the original story that Jimmy Savile is alleged to have committed numerous sexual offences against a significant number of vulnerable people. The BBC should be reporting on that, not on the suicide attempts by Newsnight.

Yes, and of course is true of every public service provider which is fined. It all comes out of our money. That is why individuals should be made responsible for their actions and individuals punished. After all the NHS as an entity cannot act responsibly or irresponsibly.

And that’s the whole point isn’t it? The £180,000 for Lord MacAlpine and the £450,000 for George (you haven’t done your job properly so here’s nigh on half a million quid to leave) Entwistle comes from the License payers and NOT out of the pockets of those along the chain of command who have dropped the ball so spectacularly in the last few weeks. Entwistle rewarded for failure, it’s nice being asked to leave with a pay off like that. MacAlpine being generous by ONLY taking £180,000. Disciplinary proceedings are being taken against some within the BBC and in particular Newsnight, one can only wonder about the generosity the packages some of those people might be offered in order to vacate the premises.

Considering its budget, £180,000 will go unnoticed.

Quite so. If they waste £1 billion on a pointless move to Manchester then this amount is chickenfeed. However it would have been better if Patten had offered it out of his fat wallet.

Control over the internet. Spoken like a true Tory.:diablo:

You misunderstood. The control will hopefully be self-imposed once prosecutions stick so that these idiots think twice before twittering their libellous inanities. was not aware that Tories advocated legislative control of the internet. Where did you read that. The Grauniad?

As I said on the other thread leave the discussions to the grown-ups eh? Unless of course you’ve anything useful to contribute. I know it’s a long shot but you never know? It might happen one day.

Or a true liberal when it comes to “political correctness”:diablo:.
If you disagree with something or even someone’s opinion, call it hate speech.

Same result.

Hate speech? Where?

Allow websites to self-regulate but do not allow governments to interfere in the running of the internet.

Would be nice to see it returned to the BBC though, say to Children in Need, the BBC’s flagship charity where it would do some good and would help those that have been abused, however…. I am not in the position and do not know what I would do if I had such a sum dumped in my lap.

An interview with Lord McAlpine’s lawyer yesterday revealed that his Lordship was very mindful of the fact that by seeking damages from the BBC he was in fact taking money from the license payer, and that as such the figure demanded would take that into account. Nice to see that his Lordship only decided to ask for £180,000. Very generous of him.
