Jo Whileys radio show on Radio 1.

Hi guys. If you are not aware of this show check it out on the bbc website. Show is on 10am till 12.45 pm GMT. http://www.bbc.co.uk/ and follow the radio links and the listen now button to listen over the internet.

Well she has a spot on her show where a group of you get together and pick ten songs that would go on your all time favourite party album. I hope a few of you are interested in this as I propose we all get together and pick some songs. After that I will choose which ones are the best and enter it into the comp. There is no prize but you get mentioned on the radio for 5 days and you get 5 songs played on air.

So How about it guys.

We would also need an album title and artwork for the front and back sleeves. I propose we make it a more rock album but with a few more modern songs for example Nickelback or Marilyn Manson and perhaps a few pop rock songs so as we can actually get them played.

With this in mind I propose the following.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Californication, Scar tissue or by the way.

Marilyn Manson. Tainted Love or disposable teens.

Foo Fighters. Times like these

Manic street preachers. if you tolerate this (your children will be next)

What do you guys think let put in a album and get it played.

Regards Merlin.

Banned? I very much doubt that. Have heard them many times on Radio 1. God Save The Queen was banned when it was released. Being Jubilee week 1977 may have been part of the reason.

Hi Andrew,

why not drop a line to someone at Radio 1 then and find out if they are still banned. I doubt that they are banned now as I heard them being played on Mark and Lard’s show not so long ago.

By The Way (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and If You Tolerate This.. (Manics) are two great songs.
