Joe Public & access to your aircraft at airshows.

At Camarillo airshow this past weekend most of the planes didn’t have any rope etc around them so the proles could poke & prod to their hearts content without anyone making sure they didn’t hurt the aircraft or themsleves.
Among things I saw:

Fat kid jumped up on the Mk14 & tried to pry the canopy open.. while his dad was stood behind the aircraft wagging the rudder lock to lock. 😡

Gal activated into the ladder release on the F7F & just about filled her pants when it dropped with a loud CLANG!!! The noise scattered a few other people from under the wings.

Group of 3 or 4 people poking around inside the left nacelle of the F7F.. altho they scattered like cockroaches when I reached up into the right nacelle & hit the switch for the left side scavenge pump :diablo::D

Usually I’ll stay near the aircraft to make sure it doesn’t end up with some morons initials carved in the skin (it happens) or have holes poked in it etc.

I imagine there’s a few PO’d aircraft owners around this morning..
