I think it would be fair to call the late John Boyd the Bruce Lee of air combat, so radical, effective and initially disregarded were his theories of combat. I admire John Boyd for his brutally direct line of thinking and his willingness to go to the wall for what he believed in and letting nothing, including his own ego, stand in his way when honing a theory. I highly doubt that the “teen” series of fighters would have been anywhere near successful as they’ve become if it wasn’t for the man’s input.
