John Romain – new Lysander interview

All,

Article link: https://vintageaviationecho.com/john-romain-lysander/

A couple of weeks ago I sat down with John Romain to discuss his involvement in Lysander V9312’s restoration and, in particular, its test flying regime.  The resulting article is linked above, should you wish to take a look.  I believe it’s the most substantial report on this particular aircraft since its first flight in August 2018 – a long read, but hopefully an interesting one!

George Romain has furnished the article with some exceptional photographs, many of them unpublished.  It’s always humbling to work with such talented individuals.

I’d previously interviewed JR on the Blenheim, Bf 109E, Spitfire PR.XI and for a career retrospective.  This latest article is very much a continuation of the same story.

Sad to see this forum is a lot quieter than the last time I posted, but I see a few familiar usernames are still about!  Hopefully those who are find something of interest in this thread/article.

Cheers all.

Elliot

What a beautiful heartfelt story. A real insight into what goes into flight testing.

Thank you
