Johnnie Johnson

I have not posted here before but to keep up to date almost every day. I was hoping that one of the many experts that frequent this forum could perhaps cast some light on an item that I recently came across.

Basically it consists of a presentation plaque to Johnnie Johnson (the leading allied ace rather than the jazz musician) from Avro in 1993 (having checked the date it appears to have been the date of the airshow at Woodford that year). I know that BAE at Woodford still used the Avro name sometimes at the time but none the less can anyone out there tell me what this would have been for? Was Johnnie simply a venerated guest worthy of a presentation or was this a ceremony in connection with BAE or Woodford? I believe that Johnnie also commanded a Vulcan squadron and was wondering if this has somethng to do with it?
