I’ve recently bought a new Saitek ST290 joystick but cannot get the throttle to work on most of my flight sims.
Bizarrely, it functions correctly on FS 2004, but not at all on IL-2, IL-2 Forgotten Battles or CFS 2.
I have the patches for the IL-2 stuff and downloaded the joystick driver from Saitek.
I’ve also calibrated the joystick countless times through the gaming options in the control panel-this also shows the throttle is responding.
Also reloaded the flight sims.
Unfortunately, I’ve binned my previous joystick. 🙁
Any ideas before a trip down to PC World beckons?

Paul

Only thing i can think of is to adjust the sliders so it is more responsive. You may have already tried that ? If not it could be a problem with the joystick. I once had one that would not make a left turn as a sensor had worn out inside.

Many thanks for your reply, Chris.
I’ve got the throttle setting to work on the joystick by going to the HOTAS control panel in IL-2 and altering the power setting from
“-u slider axis” to “-z-axis”.
To be honest, I’ve never given much notice to this panel before, so your suggestion to reconfigure the functions has done the trick. 🙂
Thanks again!

Have you enabled the joystick in IL2?
Also wrt CFS, have you reconfigured it use use the same functions/keystrokes as FS ?
Cheers
