How it will be used in conflict and potential concepts / applications of how to use the tools in the tool bag. Just about any JSF issue you can think of.
OK I will start out with a question for the gallery:
In an Aussie JSF scenario of long range strike, consider the following…. There was some mention in numerous ( possibly useless ) writings re: RAAF stuff… that their new tankers may not want to be used to support strikes closer to “fence in” threat areas in some scenarios. So… lets consider a gut busting long range multi-refuel JSF strike.
Question:
Would….. optional gear to put refueling packs on the JSF serve a warfighting purpose for lets say the RAAF or any other non-U.S. JSF user?
Scenario- High priority strike of a single or few co-located targets on a very long gut busting mission. The targets for whatever reason, don’t lend themself to using JASSM. The strike is just to encourage attitude adjustment of the other side, by removing a portion of airpower sitting on the ground,…using a long arm reach, with minimum loss of life.
One JSF with 2x JDAM ( BLU-109 to break runway intersectons) internal 2x A2A
One JSF with 8x SDB internal 2xA2A
4 JSF with external air to air refueling packs (obviously here not very stealthy, not being used here for their shooter abilities. )
1 Airbus tanker,
This package takes off and at the planned area that is deemed too high risk for the big tanker to proceed, the “tanker JSFs” help the strike JSFs the rest of the way.
Further extra airframes as contingency backup as needed by the planners.
