A new 1/32 Model of a Ju 88 A1 has just been released, however looking at photo’s it took a while to see that something appears to be missing – the underwing bomb racks!.
I know that it has been released as a 3/Kg30 aircraft which flew from Denmark in 1940, but didn’t all bomber versions carry these bomb racks, or were they removed to give the greater range?

You’re not kidding- it does look superb in the photo’s on the web reveiwsI have seen, but been told the cockpit comprises over 100 pieces alone.
But back to my original question- should a Kg 30 Ju88 A1 have the underwing racks?

1/32 Ju 88
It is a big model – I saw a completed one on the Revell stand at IPMS Telford last November – and a beauty too.
If you think that’s big, just wait and see the 1/24 Airfix Mossie! That’s due out this summer (if production goes to plan).

There’s a great review of this kit on the Hyperscale website and the underwing bomb racks were mentioned. That’ll be a big kit, you’d need a grand piano to put it on:)
