Following on from the story a couple of months back about the Ju52 which was fished out of the sea in Greece, the wreck of another has just been raised from the bottom of lake Muddus in Finland.Follow the link below for a pic of the tail section-the preservation of the paintwork has to be seen to be believed!

Surely there must be a Stirling in a Fjord somewhere?
Any ideas?

Finnish 52
Mike
This is the tail of Ju 52/3m 7U+OK WNr 6816 of 2./TGr 20, which was shot
down and crashed into lake Muddus on 20.10.44. The wreck was salvaged as
early as 1963, but obviously, the tail was left…
I have a b/w pic of the fuselage salvage. Unfortunately I believe it was scapped at the time, but will confirm.
Re a Hs129 ,a wreck was discoved in the Ukraine in the mid nineties , alas those who found it had no idea what it was , and hauled it off to the scap yard ;-(

I understand that the majority of the aircraft has been recovered, although I’ve yet to see pics of anything other than the tail.

It’s in a good condition.
Is the tail the only thing that was salvaged or salvageble?
