Ju88A-14 4369 info request

I have three small relics mounted on a board from the mounting I would say it was done in the 70’s, it has a typed (typewriters remember them?) label that states:

“Junkers Ju88-14 (4369) shot down by P/) T.C Wood and Sgt. L. Evans of No.29 Beaufighter Sqn. West Malling at 4.25 a.m 3rd March 1943. Crashed near Boxley Abbey Kent. Obert. A. Lekshat and Fw. E. Unger baled out injured and taken prisoner. F.W. M. Badstuber and Oberfw. E. Bunkenburger killed. Aircraft 3E+AT a write off.”

Can anybody and anything to the story either the incident itself or when the aircraft was recovered and by whom?

Thanks Andy,
that’s an interesting photo, nice to have a period shot. Maybe my bits are just surface pick ups then as they are small fragments, one a 7.7mm case and the other two bits of aluminium about the same size as the case. From the looks of your picture there was not much left even at the time.

Here is one photograph from my collection that depicts the crash scene.

I was not aware that it had ever been subject to excavation, but given its location I would be surprised if it hadn’t been.
