Several years since I’ve been to an evening show at Old Warden but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The only no show was the BBMF Spitfire, which had a fuel problem apparently, and the Hawker Cygnet had an engine problem I believe but we did get the Bristol Fighter which wasn’t on the programme. Interesting method of take off for the English Electric Wren with a bungee pull and it flew along the runway at least several inches above the grass. Following the flypast with the Sea Hurricane and Sea Fury, Chris Götke in the T20 Sea Fury sneaked back low level from the left and just appeared from behind the trees and then followed some of the best top side and low passes I’ve seen around the dogleg in a long time. Following a twenty minute break while visiting aircraft departed, the Edwardian’s took to the air in the fading light. Interesting/unusual visitor of the day was a Dornier Do.28A-1/N123CA.
