Jumpin' Jacques: A request from the pilot

The pilot of P51D Jumpin’ Jacques has asked if there are any kind souls out there, who may have taken a video of his display at Old Warden on 6Jun04, who would be willing to share it with him.

He would very much like to do a self-critique as this was only his second display in the aeroplane (He displayed on the IoW the day before).

Do PM me if you prefer.

Thank you
Janie

A little late I’m afraid, but this film stuff takes more time than digital capture! Hope it looks OK.

I would echo the sentiments above about the display of the aircraft at Shuttleworth. An excellent display and the highlight of the day for me.

Have Janie & JJ got guns fitted in both wings? I only ever see photo’s with one bay open. Has Big Beautiful Doll had the gun treatment yet?

Janie has guns and ammo in both wings, JJ has only got them in one wing, so far the Doll is not fully equipped šŸ˜€
Janie also has the gunsight and stock cockpit with nicely concealed modern radios.

A reasonably recent computer with a dedicated (second) hard drive, a firewire (IEEE-1394) Port (or USB – preferably 2.0 – port – depending on your camera make/model), soundcard & speakers, a DVD-/+RW drive, and a copy of Pinnacle Studio 9.0 is what you need. I can help there šŸ˜‰

Hi,

Thanks to a friend of mine i have just got a firewire card as my USB is 1.0. Yet, i’m using the software that came with the camera (Sony TRV245E) and i think thats the issue. Oh… and only a CDRW. I’ll PM when on-line after weekend if thats ok.

For now – gf took this pic at end of show:

Wish I could dedicate more time to working on it – only have a couple of hours in the mornings – but it’s coming along.

Videos

Huge thanks to:

Bradburger – who uploaded his file to a website
Raider – who emailed a file to me
RobAnt – who has promised a DVD

Sibs: I’m sure Peter would be delighted to see whatever you have, on what ever format you have. I don’t take video myself, so the above names may be able to help with you with your chosen medium [tips hat to RobAnt for his techy help above].

I thought it was a great display and certainly look forward to seeing JJ display again. I took some digivideo, but not much. As the camera is quite new to me i’ll PM when I work out how to get a decent video file from it!

For now though here’s a token of my appreciation (hopefully):

A couple of JJ photos – they also appear elsewhere on the forum.

Just viewing preproduction copy of the edited DVD now – it’s coming along quie nicely. Menus, transitions & sound editing still to do, but the raw footage is better than I expected, which will make all that much easier, and enjoyable.

Janie – Willow has said it all – aircraft do not have to be thrashed to catch the attention of the crowd – a superb display

Thanks Willow. Pete has been watching this thread and grinning wildly. I’ll keep him aware that it’s been updated.
