Some months ago I asked about the jumpseating by Lufthansa, now I am interested in LOT, because I will made 4 flights with them, when I go to ILA Berlin 2004. So, is it actually possible to be allowed to take the jump seat, or it does not make sence to ask?

The most sensible thing to do would be to state your position and interests in an email or phone call to the company, and see what they say. If you get a no then pop into the cockpit at the start of the flight and sweet talk the captain!
Official company policy nowadays is NO, but individual captain responsibility is often a bit different

I agree with Martin. Very very little chance these days, unless you are someone really special or have something to do with the airline… But heck its worth a try. IF you phone up LOT I dont know what their policy is but they will probably say no way. Even if they say this, ask as soon as you get on the plane or preferably before when the crew go to board the aircraft. This gives you the best chance.

From day one of my ATPL studies I have been told to never let anyone in the jumpseat or for that matter on the flight deck when the engines are running, it’s just too much of a risk these days.
You’ll be allowed a quick look up front when you land depending on the captain’s decision.

Maybe the best way is to ask directly to the pilot as they immediately can see what kind of person you are. If you’ll be dressed smart and don’t look like you live in the gutter, the pilot will first ask the captain (if it’s the FA) or make a decision immediately. However I only got access to the cockpit, but the weren’t allowed to stay on the jumpseat.
