I was reading a neat one month old article the other day, explaining how 6 Su-30MKI Flankers from the Indian Air Force visited RAF Waddington on June 28. The Indian Air Force almost sent its Mirages to the excersise due to the sensitive technology surrounding the SU-30MKs N011M Bars Radar, it was so concerned to the point that the pilots didn’t use the aircrafts radar during the excersie. ANYWAYS it seems the U.S.A. knew the SU-30MKIs were coming and had a RC-135U Combat Sent stationed at RAF Mildenhall a week earlier, is it a coincidence that a ELINT recon aircraft just happened to be in the area? Even though the IAF pilots didn’t have there radars on, they could have been on stand-by mode which would radiate normally.
Is it possible this was an actual sortie for the Combat Sent to learn more about the Bars radar frequencies or…??? Is that even legal lol?![]()
