I don’t know how this will go down, but yet again in a vain attempt to get variety on this forum, I thought I’d try another photo thread. This time, I thought I’d see what the collective forum could come up with on China’s Q-5 Fantan. I’m not sure why, but I really like this airplane. There is really nothing outstanding about it in an overall sense, but I’ve just always liked it. I suppose its rugged and cheap and that does count for something.
Anyways, here are a few of my favorite photos of the jet. What all can you guys come up with?
A-5C (prototype I presume?)
Q-5J (still want to know more about this variant…is it just a two-seat trainer or is it intended for other missions?)
Production line (one of the first photos I remember of this airplane…it was in a book I had when I was very young..probably 3 or 4..needless to say I’ve known what a Q-5 is ever since) 🙂
