Future Pilot, your best bet would be to use the outdoor viewing area. The Police move anyone on the A45. If you’re driving park in the long stay car park (5 pounds for up to 8 hours.) or if you have to walk come up past the Eurohub and turn right. The grass are has several benches and gives a good view of the Eurohub apron and is great for landing shots when aircraft are using 33. Aircraft taxiing to take off on 33 will come very close to the fence. If 15 is used they taxi past you at the end of their landing roll. NOTE: The outdoor toilet facilities are closed but you can always walk down to the Aviation Experience or catch the free courtesy bus. I shoot through the fence with a digital camera so photography isn’t bad. I’ll post an example below.
So, have a good day and don’t forget to post your photos.
Hope this helps.

Anyone who was already registered before the switch from the DC Forum to VBulletin seems to have the default date of 1 January 2000. Some have not been here that long (myself included) and others have.

the DC-10s were ideal for MYT.
They fly a high number of rotations shifting a lot of pax. Ok she burns a lot of fuel, but if MYT wanted to shift the same numbers of pax on a single flight the A330 would be their only option. This would be wasting her lifespan with the high number of rotations completed on the fleet flagship. Well done MYT for the foresight

I think its really sad That MyTravel is getting rid of its DC-10s.
Are they going to buy more A330s or what?
By: SOFTLAD - 18th July 2003 at 00:53
Yeah she is out of date and she might drink too much but she is still one fast girl. Not for too much longer though MyTravel will be getting ride of all four in around 16 months.

There must be jokey name for almost every aircraft. If this were 10 years ago I’d love to fly the DC10. Nowadays it’s a dead type in the UK so there’s no point having it on your license. Once the problems got sorted it bacame worthy of the titles ‘brick’ and ‘sh1thouse’!

i can see why the comment wouldnt be very popular:D

I mentioned to my wife the other day that ‘wys’ called the DC-10 the ‘death-cruiser – 10’. My next flight is on one of these and Mrs Pembo330 doesn’t like flying at the best of times. I, and, wys are currently not very popular.
I for one though have no safety fears over flying this aircraft; as far as I am concerned the problems were back in the 70s and have been resolved since, though objectively, the problems in the 70s (for various reasons) has left a blemish on this wonderful aircraft.

DC10 had some hydraulic and cargo door issues at the beginning of his carreer. It’s fixed now for sure.
